For a long time it has been quite difficult to acquire a piece by Kumano unless you made your way to visit the man on the far side of Japan, or happened to be in Osaka or Tokyo the week of his annual shows in those cities. The main reason is the very small output of each firing combined with Kumano's extremely high standards as to what he is willing to sell. This left precious few pieces each year that were not specifically earmarked for exhibitions.
Tea bowls and sake cups are the focus of this 2011 update. Included are several pieces with truly remarkable effects. (Do not miss the hikidashi sake cup!)
